Slayers

Slayers are a race of aliens that serve The Beast in his conquering of planets. They are a strange worm-like creature with tentacles inside of a metallic shell as their body. In this capacity, the function as servants, enforcers and marauders. Fulfilling their creator's orders with unquestioning obedience. There are two types of Slayers encountered: The Black Slayers are the most common while White Slayers are encountered only in the Black Fortress as some kind of personal guard to The Beast. Slayers are also the sworn enemy of the Cyclops, owing to their part in the downfall of their race from the Beast's 'gift'.

Slayers a typically armed with a combination weapon that includes a projectile launcher on one end that shoots energised spikes and a spear blade on the other. Their tactic of fighting involves launching a volley of spikes to soften or kill the enemy and then close in to finish off any stragglers. If needed, they possess sharp retractable spikes on their hands that can serve to impale foes. As was the case of King Eirig who died to one such strike.

Despite their incredible resilience to damage, Slayers are not indestructible. If an attack is powerful enough, such as a spear thrown by a cyclops or a well-aimed sword thrust, the slayer will shut down and the symbiote worm will vacate its host's body, burrowing through the ground. It can be implied that the symbiote is travelling back to the Black Fortress to be issued another body. Slayers killed by the Glaive are simply disintegrated as the magics contained within it are far more then they can withstand.

With the demise of The Beast, it is assumed that the Slayer under his control were rendered extinct. Reduced to nothingness as the black Fortress was.
